Is this the right academic direction?

A useful starting question is whether you enjoy patiently finding out why something does not work. Programming includes experimentation, reading documentation and revising an approach after errors. You do not need to arrive as an expert coder, but regular practice is more valuable than watching many tutorials. Before selecting a BCA, try a small beginner exercise and see whether the process interests you.

Build a simple expense tracker or library catalogue. Begin with a written description, then add data entry, validation and a useful report. Keep a record of the mistakes you fixed. Entry requirements and study format

Class 12 is the starting qualification in cited programmes. Mathematics, marks, diploma acceptance and bridge-course requirements vary; use the specific university prospectus.

Compare BCA with BTech Computer Science and a relevant BSc by looking at entry requirements, engineering breadth, laboratory access and cost. The degrees are not interchangeable merely because they all include programming. If studying online, ask how lab exercises, project evaluation and technical doubt resolution work.

Use the qualification in a realistic career plan

Investigate junior web development, software testing, technical support and data operations. Requirements vary by employer and role. A portfolio, practical exercises and communication skills can help demonstrate what you know. An MCA is a possible next step, but mathematics and other eligibility conditions must be checked at the target university before assuming admission is available.
