RECOGNITION CHECKLIST

Check the programme. Check the session.

Organise your own evidence before admission. This checklist does not verify approval automatically.

What does “valid” actually require?

UGC-DEB asks learners to check recognition for the relevant institution, programme and admission session. Institutional accreditation, a familiar brand and an online-learning website do not replace that programme-specific enquiry.

Equivalence has conditions

The UGC-DEB FAQ explains equivalence for qualifying recognised online and ODL undergraduate and postgraduate awards under the regulations. That does not establish eligibility for every job, professional licence or further-study opportunity. Read the receiving organisation’s conditions separately.

When a record is unclear

Do not mark a check complete because an adviser said it was probably fine. Keep the issue open, ask for the specific official record and resolve differences in programme title, mode or session before paying.
